What to expect
When you come in for a thermography session, it is of utmost importance that you prepare properly. There are many things that can impact your circulation (which changes heat on the surface) of your body.
Once your appointment is scheduled and intake form completed, you will receive a specific list of what to avoid doing before your appointment. Please contact us if you have had or are on schedule to have a biopsy or other surgery within 30 days of your thermography. You will be expected to tie and pin your hair up off your face and neck. At your screening appointment, the technician will welcome you to the thermography room. The thermography area you will be in is partitioned off for privacy. Depending on which session you have ordered, the proper area of the body will need to be disrobed and acclimated for 15 minutes. This gives a more accurate read and helps avoid unnecessary areas of question in the resulting image. Our technician will guide you through a series of stances that allow the infrared camera to best record the various temperatures of your skin. This only takes a few moments. Then you will be instructed to dress. The images will be conveyed via the HIPAA compliant system to trained medical thermography interpreters. You will then be contacted to arrange a consult with the doctors who do the interpreting. They have decades of experience reading thermographic images and will ensure you are given appropriate direction for follow up or additional services from other providers if necessary. Please contact us with any questions you may have. IMPORTANT:
